MY REVIEW Of THE PREVIOUS MESSAGE
Peace and goodwill towards men. The angels give glory to God in the highest. God commanded the angels to worship him. The same Lord of glory that dwells in us is the same Lord that angels worship and serve day and night. This salvation which is so precious that the angels that worshipped Him in eternity so desired to look into this salvation work of God and how He dwelt among men in flesh, and would eventually abide in us, His Church. They must have been so amazed to see love so greatly demonstrated by their God through such grace and mercy that they witnessed toward us.

Thoughts To Remember:
*To reject Jesus the Son of God is to insult the Will of God, the Wealth of His Son’s blood, and His purchasing power for human souls. (1 Peter 1:18-19).
*To reject Him is to reject his grace and the gift of newness.”
*Doing the Will of God, not our own, unwraps His glory in our lives.
*Life Lesson Testimony:
*Sin-Bearing is a Gift from God (Ephesians 2:8-9)
“He is the Immediate Eternal Gift, as well as the Internal Sanctifying Gift of God”
POINTS TO PONDER:
1. The Glory of God Demands Praise (Isaiah 6:3;Luke 2:13; Hebrews 1:6;Luke 2:13; Rev. 4)
2. The Glory of God Will Draw Opposition (Tonight’s Lesson)
3. Those who are Glory-Bound will be tested with other options i.e. Something will always try to keep you coming short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)
4. There are no short-cuts to the glory of God- It’s Jesus
5. More glory requires refining. God wants us to be triumphant and to reign with Him.
Decree Now: “I AM GLORY-BOUND AND DESTINED FOR VICTORY”
“9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.” ~Heb. 2:9-10
“10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: 11 searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. 12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.” ~1 Peter 1:10-12
*Can you imagine the Angels that Worship the Lord Almighty trying to comprehend such a magnificent love that would allow God to make Himself to be a little lower than the angels, and wrap Himself in human flesh, to be born into the world to die for sinful men? Amazing !!!!
“things the angels desire to look into—The angels have no intuitive knowledge of redemption. The Greek here indicates that the angels would like to bend over so as to look deeply into and see to the bottom of these things. Just as the cherubim in the Holy of Holies of the temple stood bending over the mercy seat (the emblem of redemption), the angels gaze intently upon and desire to fathom the depths of the “great mystery of godliness, God manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels” (1 Timothy 3:16). The angels’ ministry to Christians naturally makes them want to penetrate this mystery that reflects the glory of God’s love, justice, wisdom, and power. They can only know the part that is revealed in the church, since they don’t have the direct share in salvation that we have.”
In the womb of a virgin, He was a sign of God’s Miraculous Love, In the Manger He was the Saviour & Future Sin-Bearer, and forever more, He is the Victorious & Triumphant Seed of God. He is Our Gift of Victory!!!

Advent Scriptures: Matthew 2:1-18*
“1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.” ~King David (Psalm 110:1; Luke 20:43, Acts 2:35, Hebrew 1:6-13)
“6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. 7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. 9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: 11 they shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; 12 and as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?” ~Hebrews 1:6-13
Advent Scriptures: Matthew 2:1-13*
“1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, 2 saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.
5 And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, 6 and thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
7 Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared. 8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.
9 When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. 10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. 11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. 12 And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.
13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: 15 and was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.
16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men. 17 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, 18 In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.”
Commentary of Rachel:
“Rachel, the mother of Joseph and Benjamin, was buried near Bethlehem (Genesis 35:19). Ramah, five miles north of Jerusalem, was one of the towns through which the Jews passed on their way to exile in Babylon (Isaiah 10:29; Jeremiah 40:1). According to Jeremiah 31:15, Rachel (often thought of as the mother of the nation of Israel) is depicted as weeping for the children of Israel taken away into captivity. Matthew indicates that Rachel’s lament was for yet another tragic event—the massacres of the male children in Bethlehem. Obviously, Matthew drew upon Rachel’s association with Bethlehem and the connection of the women weeping for lost children.” (Illumina, 2003)
PONDERS TO PONDER
1. Jesus would have to learn how to deal with enemies from the start
2. This gives us a sign that there is such a thing as an Opposing Seed.
Relation & Rights of Two Kings:
“King HEROD (not)” –
(Commentary:Josephus, a Romano-Jewish Historian and Scholar on Herod and the Herodians)
Herod the Great; the Idumean (Edomite) was a descendant of Esau
Esau is the Father of the Edomites (Gen. 36:1-9)
“King JESUS (YES)”-
Descendant of Jacob (Mt. 1:1-2/From Abraham to Jesus);(Luke 3:34/ Jesus to Adam); Luke 1:31-33)
“31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33 and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end”. ~Luke 1:31-3
Jacob & Esau Relationship (Gen. 25:21-26; 27)
Very Early Signs of Opposition
“21 And Isaac intreated the Lord for his wife, because she was barren: and the Lord was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived. 22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to inquire of the Lord.
23 And the Lord said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.
24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb. 25 And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau. 26 And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau’s heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.”
De-valuing the Eternal Blessing (Gen 25:21-26
*Whatever you do, seek God until you see and understand the value of His glory and blessings.
“27 And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents. 28 And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.
29 And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint: 30 and Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.
31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.
32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?
33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. 34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.”
Battle for the Blessing (Gen. 27)
*Don’t let others keep you from seeking what God has for you
Jacob intensely wanted God’s Covenant Blessing. He was serious about the selling of Esau’s Birthright and he made sure he got it. This was the blessing Isaac gave Him:
“28 therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine: 29 let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother’s sons bow down to thee: cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.”
Esau sold his birthright, because of his earthly appetite, and lost His Covenant inheritance. This is Esau’s Blessing.
“35 And he said, Thy brother came with subtilty, and hath taken away thy blessing.
36 And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me?
37 And Isaac answered and said unto Esau, Behold, I have made him thy lord, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with corn and wine have I sustained him: and what shall I do now unto thee, my son?
38 And Esau said unto his father, Hast thou but one blessing, my father? bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept.
39 And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold, thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above; 40 and by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck.
41 And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.
42 And these words of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah: and she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said unto him, Behold, thy brother Esau, as touching thee, doth comfort himself, purposing to kill thee.”
Jacob strived With God for the Blessing (32:25-30)
-Jacob would not settle for anything less. If He strived with God, we should be willing and prepared to stand against the devil.
“22 And he rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two women servants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok. 23 And he took them, and sent them over the brook, and sent over that he had. 24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. 25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. 26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh.
And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
27 And he said unto him, What is thy name?
And he said, Jacob.
28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name.
And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.
30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.”
Typology to Application
Fleshly vs the Spiritual
“8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. 9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: 10 for he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” ~Hebrews 11:8-10
“For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: 7 neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. 8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. 9 For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sarah shall have a son.
10 And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac; 11 (for the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) 12 it was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. 13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
God chooses the way and through whom we receive His promises and blessings of salvation and the kingdom. God had a Faith blood-line that would lead to the everlasting kingdom. He chose Abraham, Isaac, not Ishmael. He chose Jacob, not Esau. This would be the line of the Spiritual Blessing through the Messiah, which is the Righteous Seed of God. Jesus was the Father’s Choice & Way by Faith.”
A Couple Connections
(Esau was earthy and chose the temporal blessings over the blessings of Abraham) followed after his earthy appetite, which renders temporary fulfillment.
(If Herod knew any bible history, then He knew that His Dynasty was threatened. His reign and descendant’s reign would be temporal according to the scriptures; therefore; Jesus, born King of the Jews was a threat.) Messiah’s Kingdom would be eternal
The Nature of Two Kings
Jesus was chosen by God. He was the rightful heir to the throne through David. He was the promise seed of blessing to Abraham. He was the seed that would bruise the head of the serpent (Gen. 3:15). However when he came the 1st time he said:
“28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” ~Mt. 11:28-29
Herod (A Footstool King)
“Herod I (the Great) was son of Antipater and made king by the Romans in 40 B.C. He managed to keep hold of his throne in the face of the many changes in the government at Rome.
His kingdom comprised Judea, Samaria, Galilee, Idumea, Batanea, and Peraea, which was approximately the same size as the kingdom of David and Solomon.
Although Herod had exceptional leadership skills, he was extremely disliked by the Jews. His attitude toward the Maccabean dynasty, to which he was related by marriage, along with his insolence and cruelty, angered them all the more. He even had his brother-in-law and several of his wives and sons executed.
He forced heavy taxes and brutally repressed any rebellions. But it was by his policy of Hellenistic culture that he greatly wounded the Jews. The construction of a race-course, a theater, and an amphitheater in Jerusalem, his wide support of the emperor cult in the East, and the construction of pagan temples in foreign cities at his own expense could not be forgiven, even though he restored and reconstructed the Temple of Jerusalem and continually pleaded the cause of the Jews of the Diaspora to the emperor to his own gains.
There was no close tie between the king and his people; he remained an Edomite and a friend of Rome, only holding on to his power by the use of a merciless military force. This is the same Herod the Great who massacred the children of Bethlehem (Matt. 2).
Herod suddenly died in 4 B.C.” (http://www.bible-history.com/herod_the_great/HERODKing_of_the_Jews.htm)
-Herod The Great (Matthew 2)
-Herod the Tetrarch (Antipas) a Grandson of the Great; took command over Galilee. Beheaded John the Baptist (Mark 6:14-29)
-Herod Agrippa the 3rd was a Grandson also. Executed James & Imprisoned Peter in Acts 12). He also became a Footstool King as the Angel of the Lord, because he received praise from men and didn’t give glory to God (Acts 12:23).
DEEPER LOOK AT THE VICTORIOUS SEED
*Valuables Inherited From the Seed
Eternal Life-giving Seed (1 Peter 1:21-23; John 12:23″
“21 who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: 23 being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” (1 Peter 1:21-23).
“23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” (John 12:23)
Love Producing Seed-1 Peter 1:22; 1 John 3:14-16, 4:20
“22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently” (1 Peter 1:22).
“14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. 15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. 16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” (1 John 3:14-16).
3D’s That Are Not of The Nature of the Seed of Love.
Love the Lord with all…, and Others as Self ~ Luke 10:27
We have to be careful not to tear up our blessings resulting in tearing down what God is trying to build up through us. Sometimes this happens because of certain types of responses to certain types of fears produced by lies. If one has a wrong perspective about their self-worth, significance, and security, it may cause fearful or envious responses and actions.
1. The Destruction of Self/ Self Destruction We can have real Self-Worth by understanding what God has done for us in His love which demonstrates our true worth and value.
“13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. 15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. 16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us.
God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” (1 John 4:13-18)
*Some people’s fears, causes them to hurt others or try to make others afraid of them. It can cause you to fight over things that aren’t true, aren’t yours, and attempt to wipe out those you should love.
“Better to be Herod’s Sow than His Son”(Atkins, J. 2013; Article)
The Gospel of Matthew records that, shortly after Jesus was born, Herod the Great had all the baby boys in Bethlehem killed.
As Herod’s reign progressed, he became increasingly paranoid and unstable. There were, indeed, plots against him, and those around him manipulated his fears to their own advantage, leading him to lash out violently, including against members of his own family.
Herod had a large number of people executed or assassinated, including members of his broader family and even some of his own wives and sons
2. The Devaluing of Others
Finding Significance in God’s purpose, and Security in His Love will stop the devaluing of others. *If not careful, Devaluing may lead to Devouring (Galatians 5:13).
“13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.” (Galatians 5:13; James 3:9-10).
5:15 be not consumed one of another—Excessive criticism results in the destruction of the strength of the soul, the health of the body, and the character and resources of one another (see Matthew 23:14; 2 Corinthians 11:20). The mutual love and respect of Christians for one another will keep this from happening. (Illumina Commentary, 2003)
3. The Denying Christ of His Rightful Place (Tim. 2:8-13)
We have to be strong enough in his grace (2 Tim. 2:1) so that we will not deny Him during times of difficulty and conflict.
“10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. 11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: 12 if we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: 13 if we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.” (Vs. 10-13).
Victory of the Seed (Rev. 3:14-22; John 16:33)
Victory Over The Sinful Nature
“Good Deed Seed”
Some people devalue the Gift of Glory because they are too earthy. They are fleshly. They choose to go after their carnal appetite despite the instruction of the Word. Therefore they come short of the blessings that God wants to give them. They forfeit the everlasting blessings and gifts for the temporal gratifications. They sell their born-again birth right, and like Esau, hunt for the earthy. When they aren’t experiencing real fulfillment from God, and don’t do inventory, they may oppose others, attack others, and often go hunting for their brothers and sisters. This is not what the saved should be doing. In Christ there should be the sowing of good works.
“8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” ~Ephesians 2:8-10
USING SCRIPTURE TO IDENTIFY SEED NATURE (GALATIANS 5:13-26).
“13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.”
The Flesh Nature:
“19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”
The Spirit Nature (Romans 8:1-13)
“22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.”
Victory Over Satan
“Devil Defeating Seed”
“15 and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” ~Gen. 3:15
Jesus is the Devil defeating Seed (“There’s a Devil Loose” When God is ready to manifest his glory get ready to have to deal with some Devils!-1Peter 5:8 (tell your neighbor to be ready-Don’t let the devil take you out or take your rights to your inheritance)
“8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil” ~1 John 3:8
“10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, 12 saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. 13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.
14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15 and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. 17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. 18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.” ~Hebrews 2:10-18
Jesus Resisted the Devil (Luke 4; Mt. 4)
Those who are Glory-Bound will be tested with other options i.e. Satan also try to offer Jesus other options. There are no shortcuts to glory. Something other than God’s way, will come your way to try to keep you coming short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)
The Church is promised that God will deliver a blow to the devil in order to bring peace to His people (Romans 16:20)
“20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly”
Jesus gave the Church power over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19)
Victory Over Eternal Separation and Spiritual & Physical Death
“Death defeating seed”
“14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15 and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” ~Hebrews 2:14-15
“18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death”. ~Rev. 1:18
1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins: 2 wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3 among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) ~Ephesians 2:1-5
“24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 27 For he hath put all things under his feet.” ~1Cor. 15:26
“33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. ~John 16:33
“19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.” ~Rev. 3:19-22
As we approach the New Year, let us prepare ourselves in these things. Who knows what we will see in 2017. I’m trusting God like I never had before in my entire Christian walk. We must really increase our prayers now, as we allow His Word to wash over us.
Have a very Blessed 2021 Christmas and a Greatly Blessed & Triumphant 2022 New Year!!!
1 Corinthians 15:57-58 (TPT)~
“57 But we thank God for giving us the victory as conquerors through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One. 58 So now, beloved ones, stand firm, stable, and enduring. Live your lives with an unshakable confidence. We know that we prosper and excel in every season by serving the Lord, because we are assured that our union with the Lord makes our labor productive with fruit that endures.“
